We stumbled upon this place after an errand in Columbia and will definitely be back. The food was amazing and service incredible. Definitely coming back for dinner and to try the amazing bourbon selection. We ate the food too quickly before thinking of taking a picture.

Our team of six had a dinner at Royal Taj tonight. It was really nice. We had delicious appetizers of vegetarian Samosa and roasted paneer. We all had separate dishes, including chicken saag that was very good, goat curry that was flavorful, chicken biryani that was nice. We had excellent bread, including naan and roti. We washed it down with mango lassi. The service was excellent, and our server was very attentive, and the host was, very kind to us. The setting was very nice. All in all, we had a good evening.

If you are seeking a magical experience infused with wonderful food, look no further. Ambiance: upscale and luxurious; a space that is equal parts opulence and beauty. An area that could equally house the diners seeking elevated experiences or an orchestra and black tie event. Atmosphere: A melody of sophistication and attention to detail that buzzes with activity achieving perfection. A spectacular dining experience, one for the books! Food: a symphony of flavors. Each note leaves only the desire and yearning for more delectable dishes. As each was robust and brimming with flavors, setting a new high. Service: extraordinary - hands down the best service I have received at any restaurant or 5 Star experience for that matter. The staff has set the bar extremely high for all other competitors, a near impossible feat to match. Well done Salvin, thank you and your fellow staff members for the amazing dining experience.

First impression: Wow... what a dining area Now let's start with the good parts of this restaurant. No one wants to hear the bad first right? Honestly, service was fantastic. You could see it as being too much if you like to be left alone. Waiters check on you a lot. For me 10/10. Food: The most important. Good. Not amazing. I had gotten the Lamb Roganjosh. Quite Dry. I am a lamb lover and this was dry. Chicken was better. Still, I expected more from "fine dining". This fine dining is the atmosphere. Food was good, 7.8/10. Atmosphere: BEAUTIFUL. Not more to say. Overall, I would come again. But I'd like to try something different.

My boyfriend and I tried takeout from Royal Taj because we wanted Indian food, and also to try something new. We were not disappointed! Even though we ordered takeout, we did notice that the ambience and service of the restaurant was nearly fine-dining quality. It was beautiful and all the people working were lovely! The food was amazing. We got chicken saag, malai kofta, veggie samosas, and the bread was Amritsari kulcha - which neither of us have ever tried before. The bread was so flavorful and perfect to dip in the curries. The samosas were perfectly spicy and cooked to perfection. I preferred the chicken saag, but both curries were flavorful and very worth the price. The chicken was perfectly tender and the veggie dumplings in the kofta were splendid. Best of all? All of this was around $60 - which is incredibly reasonably priced for the amount of food and the quality. We can't wait to come back and try dining in!

This place is everything! I decided to celebrate my birthday here again this year. The service is impeccable. They go above and beyond to make customers feel special. They brought out a complimentary dessert and champagne. I tried a new dish this time, the lamb shank masala, and it was delicious. Had some wine with the meal, and it was great. I need to come back. There's so much on the menu I wanna try!

My husband introduced me to Royal Taj, and now it's a must-visit spot for us whenever we're traveling to Baltimore, Philadelphia, or NYC. This place has been his go-to since his college days, even before they moved to their current location. It's clear why he's been such a loyal fan--Royal Taj offers consistently delicious Indian cuisine in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Every visit brings back great memories and introduces me to new flavors. I'm so glad he shared this gem with me. If you're a fan of authentic Indian dishes, Royal Taj is definitely worth a detour! :)

Food was amazing and the service was impeccable! The vibe and ambiance were authentic Indian royalty. World-class experience. Will definitely be coming back! Big fans. We got the lamb korma, lamb biryani for main courses. For appetizer we got the paneer alo. All delicious! And we love the 3 sauces they start the meal with.

From decor to service and the food, everything was amazing! We came in around 3:40pm and were greeted and seated promptly towards the back sunroom area. The interior design of the restaurant was very clean and aesthetic. It was a bit warm but it was fine. I ordered a mango beverage that had vodka in it and it was phenomenal. To start with ordered the shrimp pakora and it was delicious. I was unable to get a picture because we began eating right away. For main courses, we ordered two and shared each. We ordered the full sized Chicken Makhani (butter chicken). It was great, we asked for it to be a 7/10 spice level, however it was more so around a 3/10. I wish it had a bit more heat but now I know to ask next time! The other entree we chose was the crab and shrimp tikka masala, which was equally just as delicious. Of course we added on 2 orders of the garlic naan and added on 1 more to go. To finish off dinner, I ordered Kulfi which is a in house made ice cream with condensed milk, almonds/pistachios, and rose water. It was refreshing but I think the rose water flavor is not for me personally. This was my first experience trying Indian cuisine and I am glad I chose this restaurant. We had 1 main waiter, however the whole staff was very friendly and all equally helpful throughout our meal. Will definitely come back and try other dishes! 10/10 for service, food, ambiance, and overall experience.

Everyone needs to run to try this place. Beyond it being amazing Indian food this place truly has some of the best food I've had in the world. Seriously! The flavors of all the food were mind blowing. The spice we asked for was delivered and everything was incredible. My favorite thing I had was the shrimp. The sauce it came with I put on all the rice and dipped the naan in there as well. Not only was the food great but the aesthetic was so fancy. I felt like I was in a very fancy hotels restaurant. Everyone was so kind and ensured we had an incredible experience.
